Last week we took a look at what Unofficial FaB PvE hopes to accomplish and the ideas behind it. This week we wanted to take a deeper dive into quests and how they help develop the characters and add another level layer
How to use Character Sheets:
The character sheets were designed to give another level of fun. Each character and class have really unique things about them and I wanted to bring that front and center. It's also another way to tell a story about the characters. Let's break down the character sheet, specifically the back which has the quests. And remember, you can only have one quest active at a time during a scenario whether it's a character or market quest.
Character Quests

Here we have a great example by using Boltyn, a Light Warrior. In order to start a quest, you must be the level and pay for the quest as well as have any prerequisites done. For example, as Boltyn, I find Gallantry Gold really helpful. But to start the quest, I need to be level 2 and I would need to have completed the Refraction Bolters quest.
When I reach level 2 as Boltyn, I start the Refraction Bolter's quest. I pay 1 Gold, and now as I go through scenarios, every time I give my weapon go again, I checkmark one of the O's on there. Once all have been filled in, at the end of the scenario (success or fail) I gain Refraction Bolter's into my inventory. Underneath that you do see WTR R. Since you have completed the quest, go ahead and check the box up top in Welcome to Rathe R (this is used for a quick reference when deck building.) What this means is once you reach level 3, you now have access to Welcome to Rathe Warrior Rares. In order to access class cards for Rare and Majestic, you will need to complete the corresponding quests.
Remember though, Boltyn is a Light Warrior. To access Light Warrior cards that are Rare and Majestic you have an extra step to complete. Not only do you have to complete the quest for the set, but you also have to complete the Light quests. Once you complete the Halo of Illumination quest, on level 3 you will have access to Light Rare cards. If you want to have access to Light Warrior cards you will need to complete the Gallantry Gold quest for Monarch Light Warrior cards and Beaming Blade quest for Dusk til Dawn Light Warrior cards!
Market Quests

Market quests function two fold. At the start of the game, you have to successfully complete a scenario to be able to receive rewards. The Market quests are there to allow you to buy the equipment instead... as long you complete the requests. The other part that this fulfills is there are some classes that do not have class quests such as merchants or promo heroes. You may also notice that there are quests that are specific to types, Merchant and Royal, that need to be completed by that class or talent (Royal can be completed if you have the Crown of Dominion because your hero gains the Royal talent.) One of the main differences with market quests is that you are questing for it to be available to purchase for your party, you do not gain it to your inventory once completed. Instead, write it on the front of the page of the market to the corresponding level and now everyone can purchase it.
Conclusion
Ultimately I wanted to give you control over your equipment. PvE should be hard but losing over and over again is not that exciting. This adds an additional layer so that you are always working towards a goal even if the scenarios are increasingly difficult.
